Why Are Surfers
Going On About And Hollering About
Free Skype Download
I was reading a Time magazine article the other day.The two guys who started it sold their website to ebay and are now very rich because of it.So why am I getting so pumped up?.A lot of people call it voip.It is hardly a novel concept making a call to a friend over the net without having to putting your hand in your pocket.
Basically then you will be able to chat to whoever you like whenever you like wherever they are in the world and can even see them if you have skipe and a web cam. There is a drawback, however, and that is that it is most easily used over a broadband connection.Video bandwidth does not justify clarity over a slow connection .
Ebay the massive auction site is also auctioning skyp phones.I guess it's been around for a couple of years already but it's catching on fast..
Due to Skypes massive success big commercial telephone companies are trying to get a foothold in the marketplace.I guess the question remains is it commercially viable. Will the world wide web spell the end for voice over ip
You can be fairly sure that many start ups will flood the market in the hope of making a killing but it has an established foothold. The most plausible scenario is that the federal govt will want a slice of the action by regulation.Skype are charging to make phone calls to cell phones and local regular phones, and that's called skyping out,etc
It seems like voice over interet protocol is also at the forefront of web video conferencing as well. Web video conferencing was a huge idea about 10 years ago but then fell off the radar but now it is making a comeback
We are also seeing a huge amount of people using audio and video on the web now that download speeds are that much faster. Many people think video and audio will be a passing fad but all the evidence points in the other direction.
The next decade will be make or break for the world of voip and only the consumers will tell us whether the free skype download is worth shouting home about. The question remains will voip take over from the phone.
